Google announced it’s new social networking tool “Google Buzz” bringing whats buzzing in the social media network between your friends and family . Directly embedded in your Gmail the tool quote

Go beyond status messages

Buzz makes it easy to share updates, videos , pictures and links.

It’s key features include -

Share Public or Privately (Share with the world or just to a small group of friends or family)

Inbox Integration ( Integrates into gmail and sends email updates when notified in buzz)

Connect to sites you already use ( Social networks you already use can be integrated to buzz like your twitter posts, flickr photos , google reader etc)

Real Time Updates ( Real time updates no need to refresh comments come in instantly)

Good Stuff (Buzz recommends the good stuff and looks at the things you’ll enjoy and the things you won’t as well as things your friends are interested in)

Buzz will also integrate with other services besides gmail and reader , Google Maps will also play a key role in local communities and business advertising . Seeing whats Buzzing in your local city , see what people are talking about , what new events are happening and special business offers etc all posted via buzz and tagged via google maps. The possibilities of Buzz are huge , though this tool isn’t a direct competitor towards twitter and facebook it more aims to make the web easier and integrate your content in one easy to find place & may one day become a standard tool for all gmail users.

Buzz will also be making its way to mobile phones like the nexus one & iPhone so that you can update on the go and view whats going on.

Current Updates: Tech-World Sites

Recently as some of you may have noticed content flow has been slowed down for a number of reasons, after returning from a winter break trip final exams for school have been coming up meaning lots of studying and homework etc, cutting down a lot of time in my schedule . Along with that I’ve been playing some Call of Duty MW2 =) in the little spare time I get. Not only that but I’ve been working on some other projects along with Joshua Oakes (wee493) on moving our sites over to our new VPS host plan , meaning all the sites need to be moved along with upgrading the Teamspeak 3 server and fixing all the bugs along the way for example the adrianstech blog theme is still being worked on till further notice we’ll be using the old theme. As for the podcasting schedule, all shows and release of news shows have been rescheduled and will soon start again, tech-world podcast along with the other shows will still be produced but may take time in getting uploaded. Though after exams and all is cleared I’ll be dedicating all my time off to producing content and getting the daily flow for the blog, youtube videos, podcasting etc back into rhythm, till then please be patient as bugs of the sites are fixed and content is postponed, for any feedback suggestions etc email the team at adrianstech@gmail.com

New Updates : Site Layout + Need Writers + Future Project

Recently theres been a couple updates to the site and I thought I’d take time to make a post and list some new features and additions to site as well as some updates & talk on an upcoming project.

First off I wanted to talk about the new site theme and changes

Techified Theme

The theme for the blog has changed to a 3 Column theme that also supports a feature post ticker at the top of the page showing you featured content. The theme also makes navigating to certain categories such as News, Applications , How to much easier and also has a nav bar for the website pages. Overall the theme is more professional and makes it easier for you the readers to navigate.
AD Revenue

Also as some of you may notice since the recent problems of adsense we haven’t had any ads on the site till recent were we switched to the “Adbrite ” network and have inserted two ads to the side of the site and as well as in link ads and web page ads. These are just to test how they can play in helping support the blog and bringing whatever revenue possible to help the site. If any suggestions , comments ,concerns on the ads feel free to leave a comment below or if your interested in supporting the site in any way feel free to donate any amounts to my paypal email over at kidgurucenter@gmail.com

NEED NEW WRITERS=

Since the blogs been growing and pushes out a variety of different content we need more writers for sections like software/hardware reviews , tech-news etc. As of current the list of writers haven’t been posting and will be removed from the blog if content is not posted at least within 2 weeks. THE TECH-WORLD

(UPCOMING PROJECT )

Lastly I wanted to mention my current project in the works that will be released in the near future. As some people have noticed wee493 and I purchased the domain ” thetechworld.org ” I plan to make the domain our home page for all the tech-world content such as videos, blog posts, podcasts etc. A one stop shop site for your feeds as well , a site were you can pick your favorite sites as you would in google reader and even submit your own site to the community in hopes of more views etc. Another big contributing part of site will be the PODCAST NETWORK as of now we run one podcast The Tech-World Podcast featuring the latest technology news for the week . Our plan is to unravel at least 3-5 + more technology based shows . More information on the project will be coming soon .

New IRC Channel & Updates

Hey all kidguru here to give some updates , seeing as my summer is coming to a close on August 31st I’ve been trying to push out lots of new content etc. Also add multiple services for you the community to get in contact with not just me but each other , earlier in the month I released the new Teamspeak Server ( www.adrianstech.com/ts ) which is booming & now I released a quick IRC server for anyone to drop into have quick chat post off links easier then it would be in teamspeak , easier communication for when i’m recording a podcast or doing a giveaway etc. You can connect to it via clients like xchat etc by first connecting to the wyldryde server

New Podcast Homepage Layout!

The home of our tech news podcast has a new homepage layout.

We’ve upgraded the current

-Design
-Fixed Player Issues
-New navigation bar
ect…

All podcasts are still in archive and the updated player is working again. Our feed is also available via iTunes for free to download to mobile devices.

Weekly schedule of the podcast will now follow as planned. More to come for the podcast site including updated notes, equipment etc.

Tech-World Video Updates

As of today my technology videos on Youtube at http://www.youtube.com/lakercoolman will be updated , as spring break ends a new era of videos will begin. All the content will remain and more content will come just in a new work flow.

I’ll be adding the following to the line-up to spice up the content and produce better videos for the audience:

High Definition Options To Both Tutorials & Video Logs/Reviews etc
Bumper Music/User Created Beats/ Royalty Free Music will be added to some videos
Introduction & Outro’s will be included in videos to lead in the audience to the content and spread links etc
Sponsors will have some promos along with other user promotions to get the audience involved in my videos
Series will be organized in Playlists for easier find/watching

Along with many other updates in the workflow, to make it more interactive and better quality videos for the community.

All content for the future and current content will be updated thanks to features like “Annotations” on youtube.

Streamy is a great new site that aggregrates all your social content an rss feeds into one page.
