Since then we’ve looked to launch a new podcast network, taking the next step and launching multiple shows. An idea inspired by Leo Laporte over at the twit.tv network ,  I love pushing content and wanted a new perspective from the new generations eye and release new shows & even get the community involved in producing their own shows that can be featured on the network. Our recent purchase of www.thetechworld.org is to contribute were we’ll host our main content for the tech world and the podcast network over there as well.

As I mentioned the shows will be launched over the weeks and the calendar below is our public Tech-Podcast Network , its in the Tokyo, Japan GMT timezone as for exact times of recording and release they haven’t exactly been determined but will be tweeted and live streamed for each show , we also plan to upload the video recordings of the show in the future. As well as add new equipment and upgrades to our live stream along with mics , lighting etc.

This calendar will be updated through the weeks as we update our shows , as I said earlier we also look to allow the community to have their own podcast section so that everyone can have access to podcasts from not only us at the tech-world but our audiences shows as well.

First off I wanted to talk about the new site theme and changes

The theme for the blog has changed to a 3 Column theme that also supports a feature post ticker at the top of the page showing you featured content. The theme also makes navigating to certain categories such as News, Applications , How to much easier and also has a nav bar for the website pages. Overall the theme is more professional and makes it easier for you the readers to navigate.
AD Revenue

Also as some of you may notice since the recent problems of adsense we haven’t had any ads on the site till recent were we switched to the “Adbrite ” network and have inserted two ads to the side of the site and as well as in link ads and web page ads. These are just to test how they can play in helping support the blog and bringing whatever revenue possible to help the site. Lastly I wanted to mention my current project in the works that will be released in the near future. As some people have noticed wee493 and I purchased the domain ” thetechworld.org ” I plan to make the domain our home page for all the tech-world content such as videos, blog posts, podcasts etc. A one stop shop site for your feeds as well , a site were you can pick your favorite sites as you would in google reader and even submit your own site to the community in hopes of more views etc. Another big contributing part of site will be the PODCAST NETWORK as of now we run one podcast The Tech-World Podcast featuring the latest technology news for the week . Our plan is to unravel at least 3-5 + more technology based shows . More information on the project will be coming soon  .

Till then keep your feed back and support coming by leaving comments , emails , etc.

Personally, the only anime I have ever liked was Dragon Ball Z, but that is just me.  I’m a huge Halo fan so I will be following this series, but it doesn’t mean I’m not skeptical.  I think anime is a lazy form for animation.  I think Microsoft should take their time with this project, and make a smooth CG ( Computer Generated ) production.  I know that when I play games like Halo and Gears of War, I always want more cut scenes because the graphics are always phenomenal.  Let me know what you think. A huge case that’s been running in the tech news for awhile now is on the Pirate Bay case. After being charged guilty , news  was found that the judge of the case Tomas Norström’s was in ties to international pro-copyright lobby groups and now it’s been recently found that the judge wasn’t randomly chosen for the case. Usual case scenario is that a judge is randomly chosen for the case an with a hand picked judge it all leads to more conspiracy around the judge and case. Pirate bay’s defendants have stated with the new evidence aquired they hope to see a re-trial.  Pirate bay fans are angered in the trial fix and hope to see the judge personally prosecuted and loses his career. Piracy a battle hard to beat that will run as long as the internet runs and has a comunity to push it. Even if pirate bay was to be still proven guilty in a re-trial the torrent/pirate community could keep piracy running or the pirate bay could switch out servers.

Personally all I hope is that the case see’s a fair trial and the pirate bay gets a fair case no ties or assited infringment and whatever comes from it will come. Though the law has to realize you simply can’t stop piracy by stopping the pirate bay.

General Step By Step Guide to Speeding up your PC

This post will guide you through the main steps both hardware and software ways to speed up your pc.
So let’s get started with hardware tips and tricks to speeding up your computer which is probably the best way to speed up that old computer or even your brand new computer.

Hardware Tweaks:

Motherboard

Tip #1: CPU and Motherboard – The best hardware upgrade is probably your CPU (Central Processing Unit) and motherboard this will also bring other components into play such as hard drives and ram. Your motherboard is going to need to support your CPU and vice versa to work properly the best way to go for regular customers looking to purchase both to upgrade may want to buy in combo deal forms. Newegg, tiger direct and many other sites offer this feature at their stores if you want to go for the extra power like for example a 3.0 GHZ CPU to go with your new board by all means you can go ahead just make sure your motherboard supports it.

Tip #2: RAM! – One of the easiest and most common hardware upgrade that adds extra memory and speeds up your system considerably is your computer RAM (Random Access Memory). All it takes is the right memory and a simple opening of the case and popping the ram in place. I recommend sites like crucial before buying to show what your system supports in terms of ram and capacity. After you got your model and amount you want all you need to do is order it and wait for it to arrive. Once you got your ram in hand power down the machine , carefully open the case and look for the your current ram modules remove or add the needed ram and make sure it’s secured firmly then close your case and power up and see if your ram was recognize at your system properties menu.

These are two of the most important hardware upgrade that will increase your performance at the top most compared to any software tweak.

Software/Operating System Tweaks:

Windows users this will be mainly aimed at both vista and XP though there may be some software out there that may be cross platform that’s out there for OSX and Linux to try.

Tip#3: Optimize for Best Performance- Simply hold down your Windows Key+ Pause or head over to control panel- system- then over to the advanced tab. Then head over to the settings under performance and select optimize for best performance which will take away shades, shadows and more. Doing this will also switch your windows theme to classic which you can change back after along with other visual tweaks though all together will help system performance.

Tip #4: Speeding up your start up- Start up time is something that may bug many users having a slow boot time and even a longer wait for the system to completely run all your application etc can take forever. A simple yet big tweak can help fix that head over to your start menu then to run and type msconfig this will bring up the system configuration utility which has many options to tweak. First lets head to the start up tab which has a list of all the applications and more that run at start up. Simply check and uncheck what you want and don’t want to run be careful and make sure you know what applications your checking off. After that there’s another similar tab under the name services that shows all your services at start up which you can tweak the same way. There’s sites like blackviper.com which shows tweaked settings on what’s safe and unsafe to tweak within these tabs.

Tip 5: Keeping it Clean and Efficient- Keeping your pc clean and efficient is very important. There’s many useful tools and tips to keep your machine in tip top shape. One important thing to do is keep your hard drive clean and always running at its best. Start by cleaning up all your unwanted software and applications after that’s done run a disk cleanup which helps load on the drive by deleting a lot of junk. This can be found under the start menu and accessories. After that’s all complete in the same place you can run a disk defrag which compresses all your files and data closer so it’s easier to read on the drive and makes processes quicker. Also simple things like emptying your recycle bin can help along with cleaning your temporary folder out every now and then. Head to your start menu and run then run the command %temp this will open all your temporary files that were recently or were used to run applications after that they just stay there so you can go ahead and delete them every week or so. There’s even great tools now that do this stuff for you I recommend Ccleaner which does this and much more to keep your machine running at its best.

All together follow each step and try out the many of tools out there to tweak your system like tools like tweak xp  and for fresh installs of windows try our tweak VI or nlite etc. If your using windows vista and even with these tweaks and hardware upgrades you still find trouble try turning off features like aero and try using a your pen drive to try a new feature called “ready boost”. All of these tweaks and tips in general will give you an overall system performance there’s many other tweaks out there that can help and software so make sure to check out the tools below.

1. Wireless Router – This is helpful if you are spending a few days with someone who might have Internet but they are connected directly into the modem so they don’t have a router. This way you can connect your iPod, iPhone, Laptop, xBox, ect. to wifi and everyone can be happy at once.
2. USB drive with common applications – This can be really helpful if you are visiting a grandparent who still uses IE and you know that explaining that firefox will load the same web pages as IE will be too confusing for them. This way you can run all the applications you do at home without getting a call the next week from your grandparents asking what iTunes and why is it on their desktop.
3. Wall Chargers & USB cables – Most likely grandma doesn’t have the USB cable for the iPod to connect to the computer so always bring your own cables & wall chargers.
4. Set up Application for Mobile Access – Make sure that you can access your desktop from home with applications like gotomeeting or logmein. Just incase you forget a document that someone needs or need to begin a download that you forgot the start. Also if you have a word press blog make sure you have the mobile admin plug-in. Without the plug-in you can not post to word press from your iPod and some cell phones. This plug-in also makes the admin interface more optimized for the iPod/iPhone for a better look and faster load times.
5. iPod/iPhone full of music & Podcasts – Make sure you have an iPod with the latest music and tons of podcasts. Also its a great time to try out new podcasts while your traveling. Just download a few episodes of Twit and you’ll be set for the road.

Disclamer: sorry zune fans for me only mentioning iPods & iPhones in this article.
