Update: Sorry if any of your are experiencing errors with this plugin. I’m waiting until the Dropbox API comes out so this plugin can be better optimized for large sites. Currently it’s very poorly programed and I would like to fix that.
I have recently began creating a wordpress plugin called Dropbox Sync. It’s a tool to sync all images from your wordpress blog to the popular Dropbox file sharing service. When a user visits your site the plugin displays the images from Dropbox and not your local site thus saving bandwidth & increasing loading speed.
I’m still adding features, but currently it’s up and working on this very site!
Here are a few of the fatures I’m looking at adding…
- Theme Support (Remote hosting of .css, .js, and theme images)
- Check if file already exists on dropbox to speed up syncing
- Better admin settings styling/UI
If there are any other features you would like to see or suggestions you have please leave a comment!
P.S. check out this audio file that I uploaded using wordpress and the plugin automatically copped to Dropbox! Also the Image at the top is on dropbox!
