BORED MUCH?

The web is full of many different sites and stuff to do , so if you ever get bored on the web maybe you’ve completed all your daily tasks on web and just have more time to waste and need something to do. Here’s my recommendations and tips on stuff to keep you active on the internet.

* Read or Start A Blog!

Blogging has became much more popular as the web evolved whether it’s a personal , professional , tips & tricks blog etc.

& of course if you’d rather be writing your own material then start a blog!

Many services like

Wordpress , Blogger , VOX , Squarespace ( Use Promo Code : “Techworld” to save 10% )  are just some services to name a few to help you get started up making a blog and then going out and sharing it to the world.

*  Get Networking

The web is more then ever is about communicating  , the tools we have in this web 2.0 generation make contacting old  & new friends simple and very effective. Try going out and joining some networks and seeing who’s on & get networking….

* BEEF UP  YOUR HOME PAGE

If your homepage is still yahoo or google , you may want to try beefing it up using new services to not just get your favorite search engine but your mail , news feeds , cool widgets etc all on one page when you start your browser.

My favorite services that I’ve used are-

iGoogle (Googles Home Page Solution filled with great widgets )

Netvibes ( A great alternative to  iGoogle with a new themed style of page)

PageFlakes (Similar to Netvibes just with a different look & widgets)

Symbaloo ( Simple , sweet and great interfaced homepage)

Spice up you home web page to get the most productive feeds all at your fingertips and it’s always fun setting up a new homepage.

*Play Some Games

Nothing beats boredom like a game and the web is full of them , check out some of my favorite sites to waste time shooting zombies, solving puzzles , or whatever you may  choose.

Play Auditorium ( Very highly addictive puzzle/music game )

MiniClip – (Tons of free games to waste hours on )

Quake Live ( A Quake port to an online web version VERY FUN)

*Learn Something New!

Schools starting soon and it’s always fun to me anyway, to learn something new that I’m just interested in at the time or just something that crosses my path. The web is full of info whether its video, text guides , audio ,  there’s just so much stuff to learn why not go out and learn something new…

-Learn Some Programming – (Whether its basic HTML, PHP, C++ etc there are so many ways to learn to create a website and program , teaching you from the basics to advanced tips and tricks)

- W3 School

- CSS Play 

-PHP.NET

- Heres also a great repository for programming resources etc from Google (http://code.google.com/)

or you can simply google the language you want to learn =)

-Learn how to play a instrument online- ( Learn to play anything from guitar to the piano all on the web!)
