All in all the machine is a great laptop and is a bit big but mobile at the most and serves a great wide audience with its great power and price.

I’d recommend the machine to any geek and or customer looking to get a solid reliable powerful machine.

I agree with gareth on the plastic panels and I'm also relieved to know that it was not my clumsiness that was the only cause for the damage that mine has achieved.
There is something I would like to add.....The sound card in the Dell Studio 1537 has options to output and input (not sure about the input) studio quality sound, Maximum 24 bit 192000 hz which is PRETTY good. It took me a while to figure this out as it is not advertised very well and I haven't checked other laptops for this ability, I do believe it is the reason for the title "STUDIO" though.
In all fairness to Dell I would say I have had no major issues with this particular laptop except for the plastic panels that are easy to break! But if you are a very careful person it is a good buy.
  • Little memory_card-like slot below battery is SIM card slot for versions with HSDPA 3G modem.
