I call them bandwidth wasters. Once in a while, you will encounter trolls. The problem of the internet is not that it revolves around Google, Myspace, Youtube and Mudkips, it’s problem is that every single website has a troll. Spammers are trolls, flamers are trolls, or just basically anyone who annoyingly comments you random stuff about sexy girls, The Jonas Brothers and Pokemon (go ahead, Google “the connection between sexy girls, the jonas brothers and pokemon” and you should never click the first link, ever). If you’ve never encountered the things mentioned above, well, you don’t know the internet. But if you did, you probably ignored it or fought back. But the best way to fight a troll is to not fight back. You’ll just be wasting your time, and your bandwidth. As for spammers on YouTube, you should go to their channel and do a counter spam. What’s a counter spam? Well, that’s when you spam back. You could always say “Watch my videos”, “Sub 4 Sub!”, etc. the words you can use are limitless.
WARNING:
If it was a threat like, “I know where you live, and when I go there, I’ll beat you until your dead.” you should report it immediately to the staff of the site you got threatened, you should email them your username, the username of the guy who gave the threat to their support email address.
UPDATE:
I just looked into Twitter and found that Chris Pirillo tweeted this link. I viewed it and the first comment was from him, he was called a Dutchbag. LOL. Actually, if I was given a comment like that, I’ll actually reply back, because it is a comically invalid insult. I’ll tell the user: “Why thank you for the compliment! But, I’m so sorry, I’m not Dutch, I’m of a different nationality.”
