Hello, all so I decided with the new browser recently being upgraded to 3. 1, and have been around for a quite enough for me to get use to and a custom the new features I though i write a review , followed by a video soon.
Ok so without further adu heres my personal review feel free to leave your feedback and comments.
So the review will be based into several categories and than given examples etc.
First , lets get off with the new features the main ones being 1- The Awesome Bar | 2- Preformance/Memory Tweaks | 3- New Interface etc…
Stepping up from FF 2 , three has show great improvment in terms of preformance and productivity.
That leads us to the first category
SPEED/Performance
For Firefox 3 they added many tweaks including the fix in the leaks of memory aquired by the previous version of Firefox. They have also dramatically increased load time on HTML & Javascript pages that were highly noticable whether it be high or slow connections. Load times and response time for the browser has been great by far. As well as maintaining its tweakability. Overall the performance load wise and terms of loading content heavy pages it does great while keeping a reasonable memory amount.
So for this category Mozilla easily gets 5/5

Features/Interface
A new great interface that has added a great intergration in which the browser will use the matching interface/theme that goes with you’r operating system whether it be XP,Vista,Leopard or even Ubuntu.
The icons are more slimmed down and sleek along with new buttons added like the Favicon in the address that establishes the SSL for the site and other information like page views etc. Now moving on to features that matched along with the interface the most important one to mind being the AWESOME BAR which truly is awesome and saves you time in general of checking Favorites/Bookmarks/History all i one as it takes a look at all and guesses on sites your gonna choose by your words typed. I personally have found it VERY useful and saves much time rather than checking back in history etc. Along with some other features in firefox 3 like the enhanced ease of bookmarking and other keyboard shortcuts being added on to make well your browsing much easier.
So in this Category Mozilla yet again scores 5/5 in new features and the sleek interface.

Stability/Productivity /Migration
First off stability of the browser coming from my point of what I consider a power user as I run around 8 addons and the basic plug-ins and download frequently FF3 has stood up to most of the heavy uses. I usually go on upload and view youtube content, Surf the web , watch and stream live etc. So from all of that FF3 for the most part it has withstood it all . Though of course there has been some bumps along the way , first the session manager by default for FF3 could use some inspiration from add ons like Tab Mix Plus and Session manager. Also streaming content on FF3 can be heavy at times and FF3 can spike on CPU usage at times were cache gets to heavy. Moving onto the productivity side many new features like mention aboved the AWESOME BAR is just one of the many known features in productivity along with bookmarking and other added features/tweaks. Now for migration meaning the move from FF2 onto the FF3 most devolpers for mainstream add-ons have migrated over for FF3 though some susccessfully others not so much . Though it’s not surprising with a major move especilly for devolpers working alone etc. There are great themes/addons made for FF3 as well as really great ones that are still incompatible. So time is what will cure the cracks in FF3 along with some small and big bugs here and there.
So in total for this category i give it
3.5/5
Other than that my finalize thoughts , are FF3 has been great and is fir the most part stable and a huge update. My tips/tweaks to speed and enhance your browsing
check out some
About:config tweaks as well as look into add-ons such as “Ramback” which clears internal cache to speed up and free up memory for FF3 in the state of over worked. Also look into a service i previously talked about “Open DNS”
